tips to make the best bone broth EVER:

🦴 ensure to include marrow bones as they have the richest store of minerals. bones tend to store heavy metals, so always source the highest quality bones you can possibly find.

🥘 using a slow cooker or pressure cooker will make it easy to brew while you sleep. boil, then simmer for 24-60 hours. you can also use a stainless steel stock pot, borosilicate cookware, or dutch oven to simmer the broth.

💦 use pure spring water or properly reverse osmosis filtered water.

🍖 keep. the. fat. on. this is arguably the best part of the broth, and once it cools, it’ll harden into tallow. it’s a good idea to consume it along with the rest of the broth or use it in lieu of rancid, industrialized vegetable and seed oils (goodbye, sunburns).

🍋 always add an acid to help extract the bones' minerals, such as lemon, lime, or my personal favourite, apple cider vinegar (with the ‘mother’).

🥕 avoid wasting veggie scraps by including them in the broth. I often freeze veggie scraps for broths, or compost them in the garden.

⚡️ avoid reheating it in the microwave, as it’ll become toxic to the liver, kidneys and nervous system. opt for stove top reheating instead.

❄️ make a big batch and freeze portions of it in silicone moulds for long term storage.

The @thefeedfeed challenge here was to make the best ever cherry cashew butter cups with @ifyoucare_usa paper baking cups. The recipe called for using the mini cups, but I already had a stash of the large baking cups, and TBH, go big or go home... they’re seriously a game changer.

Parchment paper is such a staple in everyday kitchen alchemy, and these 100% unbleached, chlorine-free, biodegradable and backyard compostable, greaseproof @ifyoucare_usa baking cups won’t leach any toxins into the food you create as the FSC, BPI, USDA, Ok Compost, and GOTS certified paper is coated with heat resistant food safe silicone, packaged in 100% recyclable paperboard.

i’ll be honest... trying to make liver pâté i’ll be honest... trying to make liver pâté appear tasty to industrialized palates is no easy feat. 🙈
